Este artículo presenta el resumen crítico del libro Controversias Actuales en la Teoría Lingüística de Noam Chomsky. El hecho central, dice Chomsky, es que cualquier hablante maduro de un idioma dado puede producir oraciones nuevas que se acomodan a las circunstancias en que se encuentra el hablante y que éste puede comprender a otros hablantes en situaciones nuevas.
