Abstract

In the present paper we present a revision of data regarding the Nicaraguan molluscan species diversity. For that purpose we reviewed the information existing in the scientific literature on the subject, previous papers published by the authors and the electronic data base of UCA Malacology Centre. We found a figure of 1908 species of molluscs cited to Nicaragua, of which 227 are continental, terrestrial and freshwater, 1251 are marine species from the Pacific coast and 400 are marine species of the Caribbean coast.
