Ika is a Chibchan language spoken by the Bintukwa, approximately 7000 people living on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada de San Marta in northeastern Colombia. This article deals with the major topics of concern in discussing the Ika verb phrase: auxiliary verbs, agreement, aspect, mood, and valence change.
