Resumen

Este artículo se centra en la búsqueda de una metáfora alternativa para explicar los fenómenos cognitivos. El marco propuesto es el del lenguaje natural, junto con aquellas estructuras prelingüísticas que sean coherentes con el lenguaje mismo. El círculo hermenéutico de Gadamer se convierte en un modelo explicativo evidentemente lingüístico. Además, parece abarcar procesos neuronales. Se hace un intento de superar la contradicción entre simbolista y modelos conexionistas por medio de un continuo entre los niveles de explicación (semántica y física). Finalmente, se hace un intento de retomar la inteligencia artificial sobre la base de estas consideraciones.
