We are pleased to present Volume 11, Number 1 of 2025, as part of our commitment to providing updated knowledge on educational administration at the national and international levels. This knowledge aims to guide and strengthen the leadership of those responsible for managing education.

Volume 11, Number 1 of 2025 is composed of the following articles:

School supervision and the evaluation of educational quality within the framework of Goal 4 for sustainable development in the 2030 agenda: challenges and proposals.
Author: José Augusto Valdez Miramontes.
A documentary study addressing the relationship between the 2030 agenda and the current demands of education. In particular, it analyzes the role of school supervision in Mexico as a key element for implementing and evaluating educational policies that promote quality, inclusive, and equitable education, as established in Sustainable Development Goal 4. School supervision is explored through its functions of advising, pedagogical support, control, and administration, which aim to align educational processes with quality models and respond to the needs of the educational community.
To face the challenges of educational modernization and globalization, the document proposes the creation of a community of practice for telesecundaria school supervisors. This collaborative space would allow for the exchange of experiences and the development of competencies that have so far been insufficiently addressed in continuous training, facilitating a more professionalized and effective supervision. Furthermore, the community of practice seeks to establish a support network among supervisors to strengthen educational management through collaborative strategies, aligning the Mexican educational system with international commitments and responding to the current demands of educational systems.
José Augusto Valdez Miramontes Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revistas.ucr.ac.cr/index.php/gestedu/article/view/60745 Thu, 09 Jan 2025 00:00:00 -0600 Efficiency and Financial Sustainability of Colombia Public Universities https://revistas.ucr.ac.cr/index.php/gestedu/article/view/61864
The efficiency in the use of economic and financial resources is essential to ensure quality higher education. Addressing the challenges of sustainability, technology, and financial management is key for educational institutions to continue offering competitive training aligned with current demands. This research aims to analyze the technical efficiency and sustainability in the management of economic and financial resources allocated to public universities in Colombia, to propose improvement strategies. Data from the 2021 financial statements were used, and the Data Envelopment Analysis model, focused on inputs, was applied to determine relative efficiency. The results indicated that 43.5% of public higher education institutions in Colombia were fully efficient, while 56.5% showed inefficiencies. The average efficiency was 83.836%, with a maximum of 100%, a minimum of 35.51%, and a standard deviation of 21.37%. These findings are fundamental for the formulation of government policies that allow for the allocation of economic and financial resources based on management efficiency.
Luis Germán Báez-Mancera Copyright (c) 2024 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://revistas.ucr.ac.cr/index.php/gestedu/article/view/61864 Thu, 09 Jan 2025 00:00:00 -0600 Development of research for the strengthening and transformation of School Management https://revistas.ucr.ac.cr/index.php/gestedu/article/view/62048
This essay makes evident the need to look for management of knowledge, as well propose a conceptual model and an investigation method in the context of the professional practice, involving the educational community, whose final target is the transformation of the scholar center.
