Resumen

Los agrandamientos gingivales inducidos por placa bacteriana asociados a factores locales como el uso de aparatología ortodóntica, son frecuentemente observados en pacientes jóvenes, con un inadecuado control del biofilm dental. Dentro de la terapéutica recomendada para tratar dicha condición se encuentra la fase higiénica periodontal y el abordaje quirúrgico. Se presenta un caso clínico de un paciente de 16 años con agrandamiento gingival y su respectivo tratamiento.
