Abstract
The present work explores the presence of articles on science and technology in five Costa Rican newspapers during February of 2004. The goal is the determination of the most significant characteristics of the journalistic production in this field.The results of a content analysis of the studied texts are explained. The procedure includes an examination of the relevant actors, the communication channels between writers and their sources, the contents and ways in which information is dealt with, as well as the elements that define a journalistic discourse in the fields of science and technology
