The main objective is to unravel the possible causes of the abrupt abandonment of psychoanalytic treatment. It is expected to be of interest and matter of debate to colleagues working in the clinical field. Ideas such as resistance, acting out, and transference are discussed, exploring their relevance in the therapeutic process. Furthermore, the role of therapist interpretations and their relationship with the establishment of transference is analyzed. The importance of understanding the opportune moment to intervene (timing) and the need to avoid premature interpretations that may interfere with the therapeutic process are emphasized.
2025-01-23T00:00:00-06:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Lucía Natalí García, Rocío Yamila Mosqueira https://revistas.ucr.ac.cr/index.php/wimblu/article/view/63347 How are sleep disorders and depression related? A literature review 2024-12-30T17:02:45-06:00 Reichell Vargas Villalobos reichell.vargasvillalobos@uc.ac.cr
The present article deals with a review of academic material on the relationship between depressive disorders and sleep disorders, considering their possible links in terms of causes and symptoms. A review of 33 selected articles from various databases revealed a bidirectional relationship between depression and sleep disorders. Biological factors, such as neurotransmitter dysfunction and melatonin secretion, play a crucial role in both. Additionally, environmental and psychological factors, such as stress and anxiety, also contribute to the interrelation between these conditions. Furthermore, the consumption of substances like alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, and certain medications influences sleep and depressive symptoms. In conclusion, the comorbidity between depressive disorders and sleep disorders highlights the need for a comprehensive understanding of both to improve diagnosis and treatment.
2025-01-01T00:00:00-06:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Reichell Vargas Villalobos https://revistas.ucr.ac.cr/index.php/wimblu/article/view/63530 Results of the transformational leadership style on the organizational climate in a paper and cardboard company in Guatemala in 2022 2025-01-17T15:28:06-06:00 Andrés Andrés Solís Segura solisandres@gmail.com
In this quantitative correlational study, we sought to analyze the impact of the transformational leadership style on the organizational climate, to find out how this type of leadership is valued by employees according to their length of service. The sample consisted of n = 315 people, with a minimum length of service of 3 months, from 26 work areas. A reliable and validated instrument was used to collect data. The results showed a positive and significant evaluation between transformational leadership and the organizational climate (p = 0.001; R = 0.686***), which indicates that both variables tend to increase together. That is, out of every 10 actions identified as transformational, 7 or 8 were associated with a favorable organizational climate. In addition, a notable difference was observed in the rigidity with which the organizational climate is evaluated between personnel with more seniority and those with less time working in the company. In conclusion, these differences suggest that the perception of transformational leadership and its impact on the organizational climate may be influenced by the accumulated experience within the company.
2025-01-17T00:00:00-06:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Andrés Solís Segura https://revistas.ucr.ac.cr/index.php/wimblu/article/view/63842 Relationship between social skills and emotional regulation in Mexican children 2025-01-31T20:19:05-06:00 Jessica Esperanza Naranjo-García je.naranjogacia@ugto.mx Verónica Reyes-Pérez v.reyes@ugto.mx José María de la Roca Chiapas joseroca@ugto.mx
As human beings develop, they must acquire skills or behaviors that prepare them for life in a group and thus be able to integrate into society. A deficit in emotional regulation strategies can lead to poorly adaptive behaviors. On the other hand, social skills help people relate to others, integrating and communicating effectively. The objective of the present study was to identify the relationship between Social Skills and Emotional Regulation Strategies in children; 400 infants aged between 8 and 12 years participated (M = 10.19, SD = 1.40). The results show the adaptive role of the Emotional Regulation Strategies 'Positive reappraisal' and 'Refocus on plans' with respect to the Social Skills of children, proving that children's ability to manage their emotions appropriately is a condition that guarantees success in their interpersonal relationships and in coping with problematic situations.
2025-01-31T00:00:00-06:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jessica Esperanza Naranjo-García, Verónica Reyes-Pérez, José María de la Roca Chiapas https://revistas.ucr.ac.cr/index.php/wimblu/article/view/64340 Creation of a Leadership Plan 2023-2024 for the Board of Directors of the Charcot Group in the Canton of Tilarán 2025-03-12T21:59:46-06:00 Litzy León litzy.leon@ucr.ac.cr Paula Mora paula.moramora@ucr.ac.cr Naray Rodríguez naray.rodriguez@ucr.ac.cr Mariam Ruiz mariam.ruiz@ucr.ac.cr Mauren Sandoval mauren.sandoval@ucr.ac.cr
The Charcot Group, located in Tilarán, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, provides care for older adults with neuropathies through activities that promote active aging, in collaboration with the University of Costa Rica (UCR) and the Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED).
