O papel da Psicologia Evolucionista na configuração atual das representações de gênero

A presente pesquisa faz uma abordagem, a partir de uma revisão crítica da literatura, das representações que, a partir de algumas leituras contemporâneas, como a dos incels ou pickup artists, são feitas a partir da Psicologia Evolucionista. Essa abordagem teórica considera que a mente humana é composta por módulos funcionais, inatos e encapsulados, produto da seleção natural e da evolução, que, segundo essa comunidade acadêmica, são resultado dos desafios ambientais presentes nos primeiros anos da espécie humana, especialmente no período de caça e coleta. A mente, como apontam seus fundadores, teria uma arquitetura da idade da pedra. Por outro lado, a partir da teoria da misoginia proposta pela filósofa australiana Kate Manne, é apresentada uma série de exemplos, especialmente de artigos oriundos da comunidade acadêmica dessa área, que demonstram a forma como as representações construídas podem vir, a partir de diferentes interpretações, a reproduzir ideias naturalizadas sobre o que, supostamente, seria o comportamento psicológico normal de homens e mulheres. Conclui-se que essas representações são úteis para o reforço da estrutura misógina no sentido de Manne.
