This article exposes to the readers the evolution of the discipline of Alternative Conflict Resolution (known by its acronym in Spanish as RAC) at the Facultad de Derecho of the Universidad de Costa Rica by compiling the most relevant academic initiatives. that the Academic Unit has developed in the matter through the university tasks of teaching, social action and research, the systematization of these experiences being relevant within the framework of the 180th anniversary of the Facultad de Derecho and the 60th anniversary of the Revista de Ciencias Jurídicas.
