Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect format.
- Wherever possible, URLs are provided for references.
- The text has 1.15 line spacing; 11 point font size, with Times New Roman font; italics are used instead of underlining (except in URLs); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed in the appropriate places in the text, rather than at the end.

The ALP Journal encourages academic production in the discipline of Public Administration from multiple approaches and areas. The scientific journal Administrar lo Público has the following publication categories (For more details, do not forget to review the Publication Guidelines for Authors)
Refereed categories:
- Original publications: This is the main form of scientific periodical publication. It includes original scientific reports, complete articles, case studies and preliminary notes that inform about: results obtained, description of methods, techniques and devices; and new ideas are presented. A document belongs to this category when it contributes to considerably expanding the knowledge or understanding of a problem and is written in such a way that a competent researcher can repeat the experiments, observations, calculations or theoretical reasoning of the author and judge their conclusions and the accuracy of their work. The minimum length is 9,000 words and the maximum is 10,000 words, including text, tables and references.
- Systematization of interventions: this article type processes academic reports in an articulated manner in order to present the main results of the basic or applied research program or project, using descriptive narrative to present the report in an abbreviated manner, relying on the methods, findings, conclusions and recommendations to continue investigating the matter. The minimum length is 4,500 words and the maximum is 5,000 words, including text, tables and references.
- Research advances: reports from ongoing research projects are processed, presenting new, relevant information whose sense of opportunity can contribute to decision-making or facilitate processes and procedures. The minimum length is 2,800 words and the maximum is 3,000 words, including text, tables and references.
Non-refereed categories:
- Systematization of teaching or social extension: this category exposes results of teaching or social extension projects, making visible information related to the results and impact generated by these projects in the intervened population. This visualization of the incidence and sense of opportunity in the intervened population is intended to document the activities that reinforce the University-Society relationship. The minimum length is 4,500 words and the maximum is 5,000 words, including text, tables and references.
- Secondary publications: publication that is responsible for the preparation of summaries and indexing of primary publications, as well as the storage and retrieval of the information contained therein, such as a book review. The maximum length is 1,000 words, including text, tables and references.
- Recapitulative studies: this is a production carried out on a specific topic, in which already published information is gathered, analyzed and discussed. The author must take into account all published works that have advanced the topic, or would have advanced it if they had been taken into consideration. The maximum length is 8,000 words, including text, tables and references.

La Revista ALP ofrece la posibilidad de incentivar la producción académica en la disciplina de la Administración Pública desde múltiples enfoques y áreas de los docentes e investigadores de las ciencias sociales, ciencias económicas, educación y derecho, así como procurar que las generaciones de estudiantes de grado y posgrado con trabajos académicos sobresalientes puedan realizar contribuciones autóctonas para aumentar el legajo de conocimiento en esta área disciplinar, representa una oportunidad conjunta para dar a conocer el trabajo que se desarrolla de forma nacional e internacional para gestionar lo público de una mejor manera.
La revista científica Administrar lo Público tiene las siguientes categorías de publicación (Para mayor detalle, no olvide revisar las Normas de publicación para autores)
Categorías arbitradas:
- Publicaciones originales: esta es la principal forma de publicación científica periódica. Incluye memorias científicas originales, artículos completos, estudio de casos y notas preliminares en las que se informa acerca de: resultados obtenidos, descripción de métodos, técnicas y aparatos; y se presentan nuevas ideas. Un documento pertenece a esta categoría cuando contribuye a ampliar de forma considerable el conocimiento o la comprensión de un problema y está redactado de tal manera que un investigador(a) competente pueda repetir los experimentos, observaciones, cálculos o razonamientos teóricos de la persona autora y juzgar sus conclusiones y la precisión de su trabajo. La extensión mínima es de 9 000 palabras y la máxima de 10 000 palabras, incluyendo texto, tablas y referencias.
- Sistematización de intervenciones: este procesa los informes académicos de manera articulada con el fin de dar a conocer los principales resultados del programa o proyecto de investigación básica o aplicada, utiliza la narrativa descriptiva para exponer el informe de manera abreviada, apoyándose en los métodos, hallazgos, conclusiones y recomendaciones para continuar indagando en la materia. La extensión mínima es de 4 500 palabras y la máxima de 5 000 palabras, incluyendo texto, tablas y referencias.
- Avances de investigación: se procesan los informes de proyectos de investigación en curso, presentando información novedosa, relevante y cuyo sentido de oportunidad puede contribuir a la toma de decisiones o facilitar procesos y procedimientos. La extensión mínima es de 2 800 palabras y la máxima de 3 000 palabras, incluyendo texto, tablas y referencias.
Categorías no arbitradas:
- Sistematización de docencia o extensión social: esta categoría expone resultados de proyectos de docencia o acción social, visibilizando información relacionada con los resultados e impactos que generan estos proyectos en la población intervenida. Esta visualización de la incidencia y sentido de oportunidad en la población intervenida tiene como fin documentar las actividades que refuerzan la relación Universidad-Sociedad. La extensión mínima es de 4 500 palabras y la máxima de 5 000 palabras, incluyendo texto, tablas y referencias.
- Publicaciones secundarias: publicación que se encarga de la elaboración de resúmenes y el indizado de publicaciones primarias, así como del almacenamiento y recuperación de la información contenida en ellas. La extensión máxima es de 1 000 palabras, incluyendo texto, tablas y referencias.
- Estudios recapitulativos: esta es una producción realizada sobre un tema determinado, en la que se reúnen, analizan y discuten informaciones ya publicadas. La persona autora debe tener en cuenta todos los trabajos publicados que han hecho avanzar el tema, o que lo habrían hecho avanzar si se hubiesen tomado en consideración. La extensión máxima es de 8 000 palabras, incluyendo texto, tablas y referencias.

Proceso para publicar
El proceso para publicar en la revista ALP es el siguiente:

Para la redación del artículo se recomienda incluir los siguientes apartados: Introducción; Métodos, Técnicas e Instrumentos; Resultados: Discusión; y Conclusiones). También se solicita el uso de las Normas APA para la referenciación.
En general, la persona autora debe velar porque su artículo responda las siguientes interrogantes: ¿Cuál es el problema de estudio? ¿Por qué se estudia este problema? ¿Cómo (método) y con qué instrumentos (materiales) se estudia el problema? ¿Cuál(es) es(son) el(los) hallazgo(s) (resultados)? ¿Qué aporte(s) o debate(s) al conocimiento genera (discusión)?
La publicación del texto principal se realizará a color y en dos columnas.
El CICAP se reserva el derecho de aceptar o no la obra propuesta, lo cual, será comunicado vía correo electrónico o la plataforma correspondiente.
