Abstract
This essay offers an analysis of the theoretical and methodological foundations of the curriculum for mathematics, specifically, the program established by the minietry of Education of Costa Rica in 2005 for the “academic” Secondary Education, particularly day education.
The essay identifies three program components: the “Fundamentador”, the “Operatorio”, and one that containing three attached sections: Glossary and Bibliography for the Student and Teacher Bibliography for. On these components is the analysis, this analysis considered factors such as “Mathematics” proposed teaching, knowledge, attitudes, skills and values to be developed, strategies, guidelines and methodical recommendations offered Programs, the aims and the justifications. Finally, the characteristics of the programs are studied comparatively with the challenges they make to the teachers and the demands they pose to the academic.
