Abstract
This is a product of the presentation realized in the Third Inter-American Conference on Mathematics Education, which for the first time considers the topic of the Mathematics Education in the primary school level. The work is divided in three stages. In the first part there are described some of the experiences and knowledge that I have acquired in the classroom. The second part will deal with both big mathematical reforms happened in USA. Finally, the third part will offer some possible starting points to develop the concept of “primary school”, adapting it to resources and local needs. In the whole article, the quality of the Mathematics Education will be treated in a wide context.
