Abstract
Three articles about the gold mines of Costa Rica, published by international mining journals at the be-ginning of the 20th century, are analyzed. The objective of two of the articles is to attract the interest in the investment of foreign capital for the development of the gold mines. The articles were written during the “Second Cycle of Gold Mining in Costa Rica”, when numerous mining engineers carried out evaluations of the older gold mines. The data presented seem to be exaggerated, especially with respect to the width and tenor of the veins.Comments
