Abstract
19 different species of zeolites have been found in 25 outcrops in the Valle Central of Costa Ricaand in the Siquirres region. All the zeolites are secondary minerals and crystallized in little veins and vesiclesof the basalts and pyroclastic rocks of the La Cruz and Grifo Alto formations, belonging to the Aguacate Groupand the alcaline igneous rocks of Guayacán. The most frequent species of zeolites are stibnite, chabasite, laumontite, mesolite/mordenite, thomsonite, and analcim. Natrolite only was found near to Siquirres.
