Terms of Use – Journal Portal of the University of Costa Rica

1. Open and Free Access

All content on this portal is published under the diamond open access model. This means that users can read, download, share, and reuse the articles freely, provided that authorship and license terms are respected.

2. Responsible Use of Content

Users agree to:

• Use content for academic, scientific, educational, or personal purposes.

• Maintain the integrity of the texts, avoiding any alteration that could distort the original meaning.

• Properly cite sources when using content in other works, research, platforms, or publications.

3. Intellectual Property

Each journal defines its own copyright policy and license type (e.g., Creative Commons). These conditions are clearly indicated in each article and must be respected at all times.

4. Prohibited Actions

It is prohibited to:

• Use the content for commercial purposes without proper authorization.

• Use automated systems to massively download content (e.g., crawlers, bots) without prior permission from the portal’s technical team.
