Resumen
En los últimos años se han realizado investigaciones -especialmente en la Universidad de Michigan- sobre los efectos de un enfoque basado en las fortalezas y en lo positivo en el desempeño de las organizaciones. El libro Making the Impossible Possible, escrito por investigadores de esta universidad, y que no cuenta con traducción al español, aplica la teoría desarrollada sobre las organizaciones positivas en el análisis de un caso real de desempeño extraordinario, el desmantelamiento de la planta de armas nucleares de Rocky Flats en Colorado, EE. UU. El libro sirve como referencia para exponer los principios del liderazgo positivo y del desempeño extraordinario, y compararlos con las opiniones y teorías de otros autores sobre liderazgo, encontrándose múltiples coincidencias. El caso de Rocky Flats demuestra que el desempeño extraordinario es posible.
