OAI: https://revistas.ucr.ac.cr/index.php/rehmlac/oaiThe present volume of REHMLAC+ merges its two annual issues into one, volume 12 issues compiles issues 1 and 2 of the best papers presented at the VI International Conference on the History of Latin American and Caribbean Freemasonry, held in Zacatecas, Mexico in October 2019. The organizer of the event, Professor Marco Antonio Flores Zavala, is also the guest editor of this volume.
The ongoing publications on Freemasonry shows lively research and the interest that this subject arouses within academia. This is shown once again in Volume 12 with the REHMLAC+ style reviews of the latest published academic books. Perhaps of further interest, and perhaps of greater significance, are the interviews of researchers who have just completed a PhD thesis on some history subject based on Masonic documentation.
REHMLAC+, adapting to the new technological times and the international advances in the field of scholarly publications, must undertake changes and reorganization to increase its dissemination, quality, efficiency as well as its demanding contents. Over the past years, the journal has surpassed its initial objectives since it has become the sole academic journal dedicated to studies on Freemasonry, far beyond the Latin American and Caribbean. The present and future challenges of REHMLAC+ are compelling when considering the role, the journal has played and still has to regarding advances in historiography.
Despite the global pandemic, REHMLAC+ Team continues to work for the understanding of history through interdisciplinary studies that use the Masonic phenomenon as a pillar upon which to construct an understanding of our societies.
Dear readers, it is our we hope that in reading this volume you will be able to enjoy some of this history.
