Abstract
The first part presents the interaction between transports systems and regional planning, explaining how this technique is applied in order to look for answers to some of the main problems in metropolitan urban areas, such as transport systems and infrastructure. The second part analyses the application of this principles in a concrete case study: Regional planning in the Ile de France region.
