Our journal agrees with the norms of the Open Access Initiative, every published paper can be read or download from this website. There is no article processing charges (APCs).
Digital preservation policy
This journal uses the LOCKSS system to create an archive distributed among participating libraries. The system allows to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.
The journal is also part of the PKP Preservation Network, which provides preservation for any OJS journal.
Finally, articles are preserved at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Costa Rica

The Portal of Journals of the University of Costa Rica is supported by the Office of Research (Vicerrectoría de Investigación) and the Quality Management Unit (Unidad de Gestión de la Calidad). This site aims to disseminate information about academic activity and scientific knowledge from the journals produced by this University. Graphic design, images and texts generated by UCRIndex are property of the University of Costa Rica and are licensed with CC BY NC SA - Creative Commons Atribución - Compatitr Igual 3.0.
Every journal has the possibility to define its own distribution license. In that case, the valid license is the one defined by the journal and not the portal’s license.
Interoperability Protocol
All the publications of our journal incorporate interoperability protocols that allow their contents to be collected by other distribution systems, such as digital repositories and harvesters. Journals published using OJS (Open Journals System 3.1.2.4) incorporate the OAI-PMH (Open Archive Initiative-Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) interoperability protocol with the possibility of obtaining different formats for metadata.
