Abstract
Experiments were carry out at the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences, San José de las Lajas, Havana, Cuba, during 1993 and 1994. Experiments were conducted on a compated Ferralitic Red soil, in a randomized block design with 5 replicates. Cassava clones CMC-40 and Señorita were planted at different spatial arrangements 0.90x0.70; 0.70x1.0; 0.90x0.90; 0.90x1.0; 1.40x0.50; 1.40x0.60; 1.40x0.80; 1.80x0.50; 1.80x0.65 m. Experiments were planted in monoculture. Cassava yield and its components were evaluated. Results showed a differential response between the 2 clones along the used arrangements. In clone CMC-40, the best yield, 40,93 t ha-1 in average, was obtained with the 1,40x0,60 and 0,70x1,0 arrangements. While in clone Señorita, the best yield (31,46 t ha-1) was obtained with the 1,80x0,50 m arrangement.
