Applications of micropropagation of Eucalyptus in clonal silviculture in Brazil

Abstract

Presently, in Brazil, among several other in vitro propagation techniques, micropropagation has increased in scientific and economic interest for forestry . Actually, is the most used technique, due its proven practical applications. The first studies were carried out in the 50 ́s; tissue culture laboratories were established during 1970-1980. This article is a review and a synthesis of information on micropropagation applications in Eucalyptus clonal silviculture in Brazil.
