Abstract
This paper focuses on the recovery of the memory of the Cuñuñunga as an identity reference in Costa Rica’s Anthropology community and its role as a foundational myth and inspiration for initiation rites. To do so, it relies on the oral history of colleagues from the first generations of anthropologists and archaeologists who studied in the Universidad de Costa Rica.
