Fortalezas de carácter que previenen el consumo de sustancias en universitarios mexicanos

Objetivo. Identificar las fortalezas de carácter que predicen el no consumo de sustancias. Método. Estudio de tipo cuantitativo con un diseño de investigación transversal. Para la recolección de datos, se utilizó la versión en español del Cuestionario VIA-120 Inventory of Strengths. Para medir el consumo de sustancias se utilizó un cuestionario de seis preguntas acerca del consumo de alcohol, tabaco, cigarro electrónico, marihuana, medicamento no prescrito para mantenerse concentrado o alerta y alguna droga ilegal. La aplicación se realizó de manera electrónica. La muestra fue no probabilística de 569 participantes, con una media de edad de 21.2 años (DT = 2.30). El 35.3% fueron hombres y el 64.7% mujeres. Los participantes otorgaron su consentimiento informado. Se realizó una regresión robusta con el programa RStudio. Resultados. Dos de las fortalezas de carácter fueron predictoras del no consumo de sustancias: la Autorregulación y la Espiritualidad.
