Resumo

Este artículo consiste en un enfoque feminista sobre María Tyrone, la heroína de Long Day's Journey into Night de Eugene O'Neill , siendo la figura principal de O'Neill en su obra maestra, Mary Tyrone es destacada por la crítica machista que la presenta como una monstruo de la locura del mal, y la destrucción. El propio autor, a través de sus personajes y los comentarios, ve a María Tyrone como la responsable de la desintegración. Por lo tanto, la madre y la esposa incomprensible sin éxito, así como la monja frustrada y pianista incapaz, convergen en una imagen falsa de la feminidad que refleja un claro caso de los estereotipos sexuales.
