Abstract
A geological cartography of 90 km2 was done in an area localized north of Pandora, which is 25 km south of Limón. It was not posible to use the classic stratigraphic nomenelature in this area since it was found intertonguing of the units. There are four informal units cartographied which are lithofacies defined on the abundancy or scarcity of the different types of lithologies which are
-Unit of coarse conglomerate and brownish sandstone
-Unit of varicolor conglomerate and conglomerate
-Unit of green blueish sandstone and coarse conglomerate
-Unit of green blueish sandstone and fossiliferous shale
The dating done for the two younger units reveal ages from Miocene up to Pliocene, although some samples evidence reworked. The macrofauna has an aspect of recent, these suggest that the ages varies between Miocene Superior and Pleistocene.
