Abstract

This work summarizes the most important facts of singer Chavela Vargas (1919) who starts her career in 1953 in Acapulco, México. Her voice travels around the world and performs in the best stages in Europe and America. Fame and alcohol lead her to the deeps of her existence. The rediscovery of Chavela Vargas by spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar brings her back to life and she rises from her own ashes like the Phoenix. She is currently retired and lives in Veracruz, Mexico.
