Abstract
The present article aims to review the birth of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Movement from a sociopolitical perspective. This Movement, had a real impact in the United States of America in the 1970s, when the north Americans begin to experience a judicial default. From this moment until now, the different alternative dispute resolution proceedings have permeated several justice administrations around the world.
