Abstract
This text aims to reflect on the complexity of the practical application of the best interests of the child. First, the conceptualization of the principle is presented. Subsequently, some relevant jurisprudential interpretations are presented in order to understand the scope of the principle of the best interests of the child in the resolution of concrete cases. It concludes by stating that all decisions made in relation to children must consider the full spectrum of their development.
