As of January 2022, Dr. Enrique Napoleón Ulate Chacón, Professor at the University of Costa Rica, took over as Director-Editor of the Journal.

Dr. Jorge Enrique Romero-Pérez, Professor Emeritus, has continued as Honorary Director-Editor, after 47 years of continuous and fruitful work, continuing the work of Dr. Eduardo Ortiz Ortiz, first director and founder.

This issue 163, JANUARY-April, the Revista de Ciencias Jurídicas celebrates its 61st anniversary. This issue includes articles related to Constitutional Law, Environmental Law, Family Law, Commercial Law and Philosophy of Law.

Starting with issue 160, the Revista de Ciencias Jurídicas has formalized the process of evaluation by external peer reviewers, with the purpose of improving the quality of the journal and guaranteeing that the contributions comply with the editorial rules. Likewise, a process of renewal of the International Scientific Committee has been initiated, with experts committed to academic and research excellence from different parts of the world.

We would like to thank Professor M. L. Carmen Carazo Coronado, from the University of Costa Rica, for her valuable collaboration in reviewing and correcting the abstracts and key words of the articles published in the various issues of this Journal.

Likewise, sincere thanks to the support team of the Vice-Rectory of Research of the University of Costa Rica, in particular, Mr. Jorge Polanco Cortés and Mrs. Daysi Arroyo Mora, for their valuable collaboration.

We appreciate the collaboration of the assistant José Daniel García Murillo and Karen Villalobos Alarcón as part of the technical team.
