Abstract
Twenty three species of leafhoppers were found in a sugar cane erop in San Pedro, Havana province, Cuba. Ba/dutha n�fofasciata (Merino) and Tvlocygus geometricus (Signoret) were new records for the erop. The samples were collected monthly from 199 1- 1994 with entomological net. The most abundan! and frequent species was B. guajanae (De Long) ( 1 920 ind/ha) in the crop and Hortensia similis Walk (J 8 960 ind/ha) in the surrounding vegetatian. Populatiol1 dynamies was determined fol' eaeh species. The surrounding vegetation was represented by Rottboellia cocninchinensis (Lourd. Clayton), Echinochloa colona (L.) Link, Chamaesyce hyssopifolia (L.) Small y Euphorbia heterophylla L. The sugar cane showed the highest spatial organization, diversity (0.6 1) and evennes (0.25). The surrounding vegetation had the highest species donúnallce.Comments
