Abstract
Five species of the genus Leptodactylus are known from Costa Rica: L. bolivianus, L. labialis, L. melanonotus, L. pentadactylus, and L. poecilochilus. Diagnoses, summaries of characteristics, and keys to the adults and larvae of the five species are presented here. L. bolivianus, L. labralis and L. poecilochilus are Pacific lowland forms. L. melanonotus and L. pentadactylus are widely distributed in the Atlantic and Pacific lowlands. The five species are limited to the bioclimate zones of the Tropical and Subtropical lowlands.Comments
