Abstract
In this, our fifth contribution to knowledge of the helmipthological fauna of Panama, we present redescriptions of five trematode species collected from fishes, amphibians and mammals. These digenetic trematodes are species of the following genera: Duboisiella Baer, 1938; Petalodistomum Johnston, 1913; Choledocystus Pereira and Cuocolo, 1941; Glypthelmins Stafford, 1905; and, Mesocoelium Odhner, 1910. Morphological characters which make for greater completeness of the original descriptions are given; additionally, a comparative study of the lesions produced in the liver by Fasciola hepatica Linnaeus, 1758, Clonorchis sinensis (Cobbold, 1875) Looss, 1907 and Choledocystus intermedius Caballero, Bravo and Cerecero, 1954, is presented.Comments
