Abstract
Two experimental aSsays were done lo calculate the biomass of Artemia franciscana produced in 15 and 13 day8, respectively. Experimental assay 1) three sets of three aquana had 20 1 of brackish water (20 %) and 6 nauplius/ml each. One had dr Spirulina as food source, the other two sets had fertilizers: chicken manure and "fosforin", and Uve Tetraselmis a foot source. Te pH varied: 7.3-8.0, temperature (T oC) varied: 25.5·33.0, and oxygen (02 mgl) vaned: 4.5 - 6.0 Te obtained furcal length was from 6.0 mm Lo 9.5 mm. Te mortality rate was between 95.7% and 98.9%. Biomass was between 13.0 g and 36.2 g in 20 l. Experimental 8&8y 2) hre sets of three concrete tanks had 1201 of brackish water(20L) and 1 nauplius/ml each. They had the same food source as e8say (1), except that tetraselmis was no used. The pH W88: 7.5 - 9.0, T oC: 25.5 - 35.0, and 02 mgl: 0.5 - 3.4. Furcal length wa8 8.7 m to 10.1 mm. The mortality rate was 89.7% - 96.5%. Biomass was 41.9 g - 86.5 g in 120 l. Values higher than 0.624 mg/l of ammonia were lethal. Spirulina, as a foad item, gave the best results.Comments
