Abstract
Deficiency symptoms shown by coffee plants, when two essential nutrient elements are withhold, are described. Test plants (Coffea arabica var. typica) were grown in the field in polyethylene bags for a year, then transplanted to nutrient solutions in the greenhouse. Symptoms are described for calcium-boron, calcium-magnesium, magnesium-potassium, and potassium-calcium deficiencies. The effect is discussed of the respective treatments on element accumulation in the leaves, differential cation absorption, and translocation of elements.Comments
