Author Guidelines

 

Rules for authors:

In order to guide the authors in the process of publishing their work in our journal, we make available the Format Guide and Publication Rules APA for Dialogos, Revista Electrónica de Historia.

 

 

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • Every author of the document is identified with an ORCID code. If the author does not have an ORCID code, he/she must register in this link: https://orcid.org/signin
  • The authors must send the reference of three specialists in their line of research and external to the publishing entity of the Journal, (name, academic degree, institutional affiliation, e-mail and specialty), this with the purpose of feeding our databases.
  • The author fills and attaches the document “Authorization of publication and use of document”, which you can find at Formulario:  https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ywoNMpnb2DAqYeJziABF5cYMlz-XDi__/edit
  • The article meets all bibliographic and style requirements indicated on Author Guidelines
  • Author accepts a style editing and proofreading from our philologist; otherwise, he or she must submit a written acknowledgement that the article meets the journal’s requirements for publication.
  • The author must declare that submitted work has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted to another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the editor).

History of Costa Rica

This section is devoted to recovering research with a long record in Costa Rican history. Documents should be unpublished, contribute to historical knowledge, and be peer-reviewed from outside the university.

 

 

History of Central America

In this section are published investigations which perspective is based on primary sources from Central America and the Caribbean. Documents should be unpublished, contribute to historical knowledge, and be peer-reviewed.

 

History of Latin America

Investigations which perspective is based on primary sources from Latin America are published in this section. Besides, it is framed under the perspective of the History of the Americans. Documents should be unpublished, contribute to historical knowledge, and be peer-reviewed

Dossier

Here, the journal pretends to search for debates or difficulties about specific topics. Likewise, this section could be organized by guest editors, or by researchers who want to promote interdisciplinary dialogues or dialogues between untraditional areas of investigation.  Documents should be unpublished, contribute to historical knowledge, and be peer-reviewed.

Theory and Methods (Antique Digital Notebooks)

The purpose of this section is to rescue the methodologic and theoretical debates that propose new interpretative perspectives. Articles accepted in this section must be based on analysis of secondary sources.

Databases, Sources and Interviews

Databases, Sources and Interviews
This section focuses on recovering sources and materials for the investigations. It pretends to share sources to strengthen a collaborative and interpretative investigation.
This section will not be evaluated by external peers.

 

Reviews

The main focus of this space is to work with papers about Costa Rican, Central American, Caribbean, and Latin American History. In addition, it pretends to work with books with a methodological and theoretical reflection that allows interpretations about the general reality in Latin America.This section does not require academic peer evaluation.
