Abstract

This article analyzes the relations between political system and foreign service in Costa Rica, in this sense it utilizes concept of “clientelism” created by Antropology and Political Sciences. The central objective is to determine the existence of a clientelar system which   allowed the development of a political model during second half of century XX, for this reason, the study uses the integration and patterns followed by the group of people who were in charge of chief of mission. From this perspective, the study suggests the existence of that kind of system, as well as certain guidelines that can explain their success and operation.
