Globalization as a new point of reference for national cultures, and within these, ethics understood as the operationalization of the value system

Abstract

The process of globalization is a long-standing phenomenon that has gained significant prominence over the past 15 years. This is due to the intensity, scope, and speed with which the process has evolved, driven by the proliferation of large transnational corporations, whose production and marketing processes have transcended national borders. This reality gives rise to a new international economic order and a new national reality for countries, one that moves beyond ideological political debate and shifts into the economic sphere. The organizational cultures of these corporations have become the new benchmarks for national cultures: punctuality, adherence to specifications, and so on—these will govern individuals’ behavior, and these behaviors will be transmitted to their immediate social circles: families, friends, and others. This is precisely the subject of this article.
