Asociación entre factores de riesgo y tipo de diabetes en usuarios de salud peruanos

Resumen

Introducción: Los factores de riesgo se han instaurado en la sociedad actual y se asocian con la prevalencia de enfermedades crónicas. Objetivo: Determinar la asociación entre factores de riesgo y el tipo de diabetes en usuarios de salud peruanos. Metodología: Estudio relacional, transversal. La población peruana estudiada fue de 1022695, los datos se obtuvieron de la plataforma nacional de datos abiertos. El análisis estadístico abarcó conteos absolutos y relativos, medianas, cuartiles, intervalos de confianza al 95%, pruebas de hipótesis con chi cuadrado de bondad de ajuste y chi cuadrado de independencia y p < 0,05 de significancia. Resultados: La mediana de edad de los usuarios con diabetes tipo 2 fue de 58 años y tiempo desde el diagnóstico de 43 meses, mayormente mujeres (66,9%), con obesidad (65,4%) e hipertensión (39,0%), prevalencia de la enfermedad de 72,0%. Los factores asociados al tipo de diabetes fueron, la edad de 60 años a más (p < 0,001), el sexo femenino (p < 0,001), tiempo desde el diagnóstico de 60 meses a más (p < 0,001), obesidad (p < 0,001) e hipertensión (p < 0,001). Conclusiones: Los factores de riesgo evaluados presentan asociación estadísticamente significativa con el tipo de diabetes, destacándose las diferencias proporcionales hacia la diabetes tipo 2, de la obesidad, seguida de la edad mayor, hipertensión, sexo femenino y tiempo de diagnóstico, frente a ello, enfatizar en medidas de prevención primaria y gestión adecuada de los factores de riesgo por regiones, puede contribuir en gran medida en el control de la diabetes.
