Variables protectoras de síntomas de depresión, ansiedad generalizada y miedo al COVID-19 entre adultos colombianos en cuarentena

Resumen

Introducción: Este estudio examinó si el apoyo social (medido con el MOS) y el sentido de vida percibido (PIL Test) se podrían relacionar con una menor frecuencia de síntomas de depresión (PHQ-9), ansiedad generalizada (GAD-7) y miedo al COVID-19 (FCV-19S) entre adultos colombianos en cuarentena. Metodología: Este estudio se dirigió desde un enfoque cuantitativo, implementándose un diseño descriptivo, transversal y comparativo. Participaron 305 personas con edades entre 19 y 71 años (74.4 % mujeres). Se aplicaron regresiones lineales por pasos, examinándose el efecto de la edad y el sexo. Resultados: Las puntuaciones totales o de alguna subescala del MOS y del PIL Test explicaron el 54 % de la varianza de la PHQ-9, el 38.3 % de la varianza de la GAD-7 y el 14.4 % de FCV-19S; específicamente, el sexo y la edad presentaron coeficientes significativos en casi todos los modelos resultantes. Las mujeres obtuvieron puntuaciones significativamente más altas (p≤.05) en miedo al COVID-19. Conclusiones: Estos resultados señalan que un mejoramiento del apoyo social y el sentido de vida podrían constituir factores protectores de estos síntomas durante una cuarentena.
