The following article analyzes the impact of a pedagogical strategy that nourishes on the cooperative learning proposals for the development of deliberative capabilities and sociomoral reasoning in high school students in Costa Rica. Fifty one young persons from two urban high schools were selected to participate in the application of this pedagogical strategy during eight sessions. A previous and later measurement of the level of sociomoral development was done with the Sociomoral Reflection Questionnaire (CRS-CR). Finally, a content analysis of the educative sessions was made following the proposal from Newman, Webb & Cochrane (1995). It was concluded that the implemented pedagogical strategy promoted significant changes in the development of deliberative capabilities in the participants. However, it is necessary to continue and go into the theoretical and empirical research of this topic.
