To publish in the Journal of Science and Technology, the manuscript must be submitted through the Open Journal System.

Additionally, the following must be attached:

  1. A written declaration of authenticity of authorship and originality of the manuscript,
  2. A declaration that the manuscript has not been submitted in parallel to another journal.
  3. A declaration granting copyright to the Journal of Science and Technology.

The sponsorship under which the research was conducted must be indicated, along with a clarification if the research results have been previously presented at academic events.

Journal Format:

In this link you may find a template.

  1. Title
    1. Times New Roman 12 pt.
    2. BLOCK CAPITALS.
    3. No longer than two lines.
  2. List of authors and affiliations:
    1. Times New Roman, 8 pt. font.
  3. Abstract:
    1. Must be included in Spanish and English.
    2. Briefly outlines the current state of the problem or the purpose of the research.
    3. The experimental or theoretical plan used must be indicated.
    4. Must summarize the main findings.
    5. Must clearly mention the most important conclusions.
    6. The abstract must be one paragraph, single-spaced.
    7. Must contain a maximum of 170 words.
    8. Times New Roman, 9 pt. font.
  4. Keywords:
    1. Times New Roman, 9 pt. font.
  5. Body of the manuscript:
    1. The manuscript is divided into sections identified by Roman numerals.
    2. A period is written after the number, followed by the section title in capital letters.
    3. The introduction should include only the considerations necessary to understand the purpose or result of the work.
    4. Avoid repeating information that should probably already be included in a peer-reviewed article.
    5. A brief introduction to the subject area is required, as well as the contribution of the work.
    6. If abbreviations are used, they must be explained the first time they are used.
    7. All quantities must be accompanied by the corresponding units, unless they are dimensionless. For this purpose, the correct nomenclature of the International System of Units (SI) must be followed.
    8. When not followed by units, whole numbers from zero to ten are written in words.
    9. All mathematical equations must be written using the equation editor and must be numbered sequentially on the right side in parentheses. When citing an equation, the number must also be included in parentheses: "equation (15)".
  6. Materials and Methods:
    1. Only the information necessary to make the work repeatable is presented.
    2. If the methodology has been published, briefly explain it and cite the original publication.
    3. If statistical analysis is performed, the tests used must be clearly indicated, with the results in parentheses. For example, (p < 0.05).
    4. If the results of the study necessarily require identifying a geographic location, do not include a map of the study site, but rather the geographic coordinates.
    5. When reference specimens must be deposited in a museum, indicate the reference number; otherwise, the work will not be accepted for publication.
  7. Results and Discussion
    1. For the sake of brevity and conciseness, it is recommended that the results and discussion be included in the same section.
    2. Regarding figures and tables, the following should be taken into consideration: Graphs, photographs, diagrams, and drawings fall into the category of figures, which must have a legend at the bottom, preceded by the word "Figure" in bold, with the first letter capitalized, the identifying Arabic numeral, and a period.
    3. Graphs must have their axes labeled, either with words or symbols, and the respective units.
    4. If a figure contains more than one graph, each must be labeled with letters in parentheses.
    5. Photographs must be of very good quality (300 dpi). When citing a figure, it must be written in lowercase except for the first letter, for example: Figure 3.
    6. Very long or small tables should be avoided. These should have vertical lines for the columns, but horizontal lines for the rows are not.
    7. All symbols and abbreviations appear at the bottom of the table. The name of the table is placed as a heading in bold, with the first letter capitalized (Table), the identifying Arabic numeral, and a period.
    8. Both tables and figures must have a clear and precise title.
    9. If the material is taken from a protected source, credit must be given to the primary author and the copyright holder, after written authorization to reproduce the material.
    10. The last paragraph of the Results and Discussion section should summarize the results obtained and the conclusions reached.
    11. If you wish to use a separate section for CONCLUSIONS, you may do so.
  8. Appendices
    1. Appendices are placed at the end of the text.
    2. They are labeled with letters (Appendix A) and have a name.
    3. Each equation included in this section is identified with the letter corresponding to the appendix.
    4. If there are multiple Appendices, consider as examples those belonging to Appendix A (A1, A2, A3, etc.).
  9. References
    1. References should be indicated according to the APA Manual and appear in the text according to this format.
    2. Only cited works appear in this section and vice versa.
    3. Unpublished works should not be included. If they exist, they should be mentioned only in the text, according to the following example (Soto Salas, manuscript in preparation).
    4. The references in this section are organized alphabetically and indented.
