We are pleased to begin this new year with the publication of issue 84(2). On this occasion, we include papers, academic reflections and artistic works. Among the main themes, they address the role of the State in artistic productions and creations, the appropriation of urban spaces through art, inquiries into the origins of Latin American musical instruments and coins, and the effects of dance on physical and mental health, as well as its relationship with dramaturgy.
We close the issue with a reflection on the reinvindication of women's writing in the Academy and the need to rethink the notion of 'canon', followed by three artistic works that problematize, from different perspectives, the female figure in contemporary societies.
