Abstract
Over other approaches to the idea of tolerance in the beginning of modernity, focusing on claims of religious freedom of worship and, therefore, the separation of church and state, Leibniz presents a positive and complex concept of tolerance to combat relativism while pointing out its limits. Due to the complexity of Leibniz’s approach it has a great prevailing, and it may help shed light on the legal and ethical- political approaches in contemporary societies.Comments
