Abstract

Gallbladder ileus is a rare and severe complication of cholelithiasis, a non common cause of mechanical intestinal obstruction, caused by a gallstone that pass through a communication between gallbladder and the intestinal tract. Imaging studies such as the abdominal x-ray, the ultrasound and the computed tomography are complements for the early diagnosis of this pathology. The definitive treatment is oriented to the elimination of the cause of obstruction, although exist controversy in the suitable time for the cholecystectomy and the fistulectomy. We present one of own cases.
