Abstract

Twenty-eight characters were measured to study the systematics of 5 species of Pocillopora to develop two distance phenograms. These suggested the existence of three groups. The first with Pocillopora damicornis (Linnaeus, 1758), including a ecoform; the second included P. capilata Verrill, 1864 and P. capitate var robusta Verrill, 1870. The third is conformed by P. elegans. Dana, 1846 and P. eydouxi Milne Edwards and Haime, 1860.
