Abstract
The incidence of Salmonella was studied In employeés of the Municipal Slaughterhouse of San José, Costa Rica, and of meat processing plants in the same community. Twenty per cent of the first group an 18 per cent of the second were found to be carriers. The serotypes of Salmonella found are given; of these, S. lomita and S. thompson are reported for Costa Rica for the first time. One individual was found to carry three serotypes (S. typhi-mmium + S. lomita + S. london) and two other carriers had two serotypes each (S. typhi-murium + S. london in one case, S. bredeney + S. eastbourne in the other).Comments
