Abstract
The new Mexican species Dicranorchesella occulla is described and a supplementary description of the type species D. boneti is presented. The validity of scale morphology and dental spination as taxonomic characters in this genus is discussed. The manubrial organ of males, previously known to occur only in the genus Orchesella, was found in Dicranorchesella boneti.
