Abstract
In this publication are offered several notes concerning the systematic characters of an isolated population of the Short-eared Owl, from the Sabana de Bogotá, in the eastern Andes of Colombia at 2,540 m, which has been determined as Asio flammeus bogotensis, Observations on the ecology and behavior of the same individuals are also presented, including data on feeding habits, nesting and growth, the time requiered for the development of adult plumage, and behavior in captivity.Comments
