Socio-cultural influences in the transmission of scientific knowledge and alternative methodologies

Abstract

The paper deals with the problem of introduction, exchange and interaction of science bet- ween different cultures. While much attention has been given to the dynamics of scientific creation, relatively less attention has been devoted to the process of confrontation of different approaches to science, such as is the case of the conquest and colonization of what es now Latin America.
